Cookie Countdown to Christmas
These cookies are one of mama’s specialties from my childhood. I don’t think mine look as pretty as hers. 😊
According to my husband, these are “the perfect morning coffee cookie.”
I try to use quality ingredients when I bake, especially during the holiday season. The pecans are from nearby Georgia. 😉

Crispy Pecan Cookies recipe
Thoroughly cream:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
Add:
- 2 beaten eggs
Sift together & add to mixture:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add:
- 1/2-3/4 cups chopped pecans
Instructions:
- Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet about 2″ apart.
- (I like to put a pecan half on top of each cookie.)
- Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes.
- Cool on racks.
(Makes 5 dozen)
