Buttermilk Biscuits with Self Rising Flour

These quick and fluffy 3-ingredient biscuits use self-rising flour and shortening for a simple Southern breakfast classic.

Ingredients
  

  • - 2 cups self-rising flour
  • - 1 heaping spoonful shortening about 2–3 tbsp
  • - 1 cup buttermilk or milk with vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 500°F.
  • Mix flour and shortening until crumbly.
  • Stir in buttermilk until dough forms.
  • Form biscuits by hand and place in greased skillet.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
