Buttermilk Pie

A classic Southern dessert with a creamy, tangy custard filling and old-fashioned flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • - 3 eggs
  • - 1/2 cup butter softened
  • - 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • - 3 tbsp flour
  • - 1 cup buttermilk
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • - 1/8 tsp fresh nutmeg
  • - 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Beat eggs until frothy.
  • Add butter, sugar, and flour. Beat until smooth.
  • Add buttermilk, vanilla, lemon juice, and nutmeg. Stir well.
  • Pour into unbaked crust.
  • Bake 40–60 minutes until center is set.

Notes

- Best served chilled or at room temp.
- Store in fridge for up to 4 days.
