Easy Baklava Cups

Ingredients
  

  • - 3 boxes phyllo shells
  • - 2 cups walnuts finely chopped
  • - 1/2 cup water
  • - 1/2 cup sugar
  • - 1/2 cup honey
  • - 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • - 5 tbsp butter
  • - Optional spices: cinnamon clove, cardamom

Instructions
 

  • Crisp phyllo shells if desired.
  • Fill each shell with 1 1/2 tsp walnuts.
  • Simmer water, sugar, honey, lemon juice, and butter 5 minutes.
  • Spoon 2 tsp syrup into each cup.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

- Best eaten within 24 hours.
- For parties, assemble on-site and keep syrup hot in a thermos.
- Try pistachios or almonds for variation.
