Fluffy Homemade Biscuits

This Southern biscuit recipe is light, flaky, and buttery, perfect for breakfast or dinner. Enjoy with gravy, jam, or honey for the ultimate comfort food!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 5 tbsp frozen salted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or buttermilk
  • Extra flour for dusting
  • Butter for greasing the skillet

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F and grease a cast iron skillet with butter.
  • Grate frozen butter into flour, mix until crumbly.
  • Add milk, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
  • Lightly flour surface, turn out dough, fold 3-4 times.
  • Flatten to 1-inch thick, cut out biscuits.
  • Bake in the skillet for 13-16 minutes until golden brown.
  • Brush with butter and serve warm.
