Giant Cinnamon Roll Recipe

This giant cinnamon roll recipe is soft, buttery, and baked in a cast iron skillet. Topped with maple-coffee icing, it's perfect for brunch or holidays.

Ingredients
  

  • Dough:
  • - 2 cups whole milk
  • - ½ cup vegetable oil
  • - ½ cup sugar
  • - 1 packet active yeast
  • - 4½ cups flour
  • - ½ tsp baking powder
  • - ¼ tsp baking soda
  • - 1½ tsp salt
  • Filling:
  • - 1½ cups melted butter
  • - ¾ cup sugar
  • - 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • Icing:
  • - 1 lb powdered sugar sifted
  • - ¼ cup milk
  • - ¼ cup brewed coffee
  • - 2 tsp maple syrup
  • - 3 tbsp melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Warm milk, oil, and sugar. Cool slightly. Add yeast and stir in 4 cups flour.
  • Let rise 1 hour. Mix in remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Roll dough out. Spread butter and cinnamon sugar. Slice into strips.
  • Roll into spiral and place in greased cast iron skillet.
  • Let rise 45 mins. Bake at 350°F for 25 mins uncovered, then 20–25 mins covered.
  • Mix icing ingredients. Pour over warm roll and serve.

Notes

- Chill dough after first rise to make ahead.
- Substitute more milk for coffee in icing if preferred.
- Use deep cake pan if you don’t have a cast iron skillet.
