This homemade Salisbury steak recipe is a classic comfort meal, featuring juicy beef patties smothered in onion gravy, served with creamy mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and corn. Perfect for a family dinner!

  • Saucepan (for sides)

Ingredients
  

  • For the Salisbury Steak:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup plain panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • For the Gravy:
  • 2 packs brown gravy mix
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • For the Sides:
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Mac and cheese
  • Buttered corn

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the patties – Mix ground beef with seasonings, shape into patties.
  • Brown the patties – Cook in a pan with oil over medium heat, flipping once.
  • Make the gravy – Mix gravy ingredients, pour over patties, and simmer until thickened.
  • Prepare sides – Cook mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and corn.
  • Serve – Plate everything and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add mushrooms to the gravy.
Leftovers store well for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
Use homemade gravy instead of packet mix for a richer taste.
