Cream shortening, butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Roll into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar.
Bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes until crackled.
Press a Hershey’s Kiss into each warm cookie.
Cool on racks before storing.
