Southern Tomato Mull

Ingredients
  

  • - 1 28 oz can whole tomatoes, squished by hand
  • - Half a can of water
  • - 1 tablespoon bacon grease
  • - 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1/2 teaspoon pepper sauce or hot sauce
  • - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 sleeve saltine crackers crushed
  • - Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a medium pot, combine tomatoes, water, bacon grease, bouillon, black pepper, pepper sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  • Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once boiling, remove from heat.
  • Add crushed saltines to the hot tomato mixture and stir gently.
  • Let sit for a few minutes while the crackers soften and thicken the mixture.
  • Spoon into bowls, top with more black pepper if desired, and enjoy with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
