Homemade Egg Noodles Recipe

Making homemade egg noodles is simple and rewarding. They taste much better than store-bought noodles and go perfectly in soups, like chicken noodle soup. If you’ve never made noodles before, don’t worry—this recipe is easy to follow!

Simple Homemade Egg Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Rolled-out egg noodle dough cut into wide strips on a floured cloth, ready to be sliced into noodles

  1. Make the Dough: Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms. It will be stiff—that’s normal! Knead until smooth.
  2. Let It Rest: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. This makes rolling it easier.
  3. Roll & Cut: Roll the dough out thin on a lightly floured surface. Cut into thin strips.

  1. Let Them Dry: Spread the noodles out and let them dry for at least 15–30 minutes. They shouldn’t feel wet to the touch.
  2. Cook in Broth: Add the noodles to a simmering pot of chicken broth and cook until tender

Why Make Homemade Noodles?

Simple Ingredients: No preservatives, just eggs, flour, and salt.
Easy to Make: No special equipment needed—just a rolling pin and a knife.

These homemade egg noodles are a great addition to soups or even served with butter and cheese. If you’ve never tried making noodles from scratch, give it a try—you might never go back to store-bought!

Enjoy! 😊
