Cast Iron Cheesy Beer Bread – Easy Skillet Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • - 2 tbsp. canola oil
  • - 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • - 2 tbsp. dried parsley
  • - 1½ tsp. garlic powder
  • - 2 tbsp. sugar
  • - 4 tsp. baking powder
  • - 1 tsp. salt
  • - 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • - 1 12 oz. beer
  • - 3 tbsp. butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Pour oil into a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Place skillet in a cold oven and preheat to 450°F.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, parsley, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Stir beer into flour mixture until just combined. Fold in cheese.
  • Remove hot skillet from oven. Spread batter evenly in skillet and smooth the top. Pour melted butter over the batter.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool 5 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

- Use any cheese or herbs you like!
- Try brushing the finished bread with more melted butter and garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Freezes well.
