Turkey Dumpling Soup – A Funny Mishap and Delicious Dumplings

Ok, too funny, I made Turkey dumpling soup to finish off the meat and leftover mashed potatoes, it all turned out fantastic, my dumplings were perfect texture, which doesn’t always happen, haha, we all enjoyed it very much and at the end, I suddenly realized I forgot to put the meat in the soup!!!!! Lol, guess we’re having Turkey rolls for tomorrow’s dinner, my husband said happily.

Dumplings – My Grandmother’s Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. mashed potatoes, warmed
  • 1/2 t. chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 1/2 t. sage
  • Dash of parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. flour (may need more)

Instructions:

  1. Mash together and immediately drop by spoonfuls into boiling soup, don’t let the dough sit for a while after it’s been made.
  2. Do a tester one to make sure there’s enough flour to hold it together, careful not to get too much flour though.
  3. When you make your soup, skip putting potatoes in it, or if you don’t have mashed potatoes, then you can boil potatoes in your soup, then pick them out and mash them for the dumplings.
  4. Dumplings are done when they float to the top; it only takes a couple of minutes.
