Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate chips (desired amount)
- Optional: M&M’s or other add-ins
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Creaming:
- In a mixing bowl, cream together:
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- In a mixing bowl, cream together:
- Adding Wet Ingredients:
- Add to the creamed mixture:
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
- Add to the creamed mixture:
- Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, sift together:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
- In a large bowl, sift together:
- Chocolate Chips and Add-Ins:
- Fold in chocolate chips (and any desired add-ins like M&M’s).
- Baking:
- Use your preferred size cookie scoop to form dough balls.
- Place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Baking time varies (9-12 minutes) depending on your oven and cookie size.
- For “half-baked” cookies, pull them at nine minutes – they will look raw but will firm up as they cool.
- Cooling:
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet without moving them. This will create a beautiful crinkle on the top.
