Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate chips (desired amount)
  • Optional: M&M’s or other add-ins

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Creaming:
    • In a mixing bowl, cream together:
      • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
      • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
      • 1/4 cup white sugar
  3. Adding Wet Ingredients:
    • Add to the creamed mixture:
      • 1 large egg
      • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
  4. Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, sift together:
      • 2 cups all-purpose flour
      • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
      • 1 teaspoon baking soda
      • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
  5. Chocolate Chips and Add-Ins:
    • Fold in chocolate chips (and any desired add-ins like M&M’s).
  6. Baking:
    • Use your preferred size cookie scoop to form dough balls.
    • Place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
    • Baking time varies (9-12 minutes) depending on your oven and cookie size.
    • For “half-baked” cookies, pull them at nine minutes – they will look raw but will firm up as they cool.
  7. Cooling:
    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet without moving them. This will create a beautiful crinkle on the top.
  8. Enjoy:
