1-1-1-1 Strawberry Cobbler: A Simple and Delicious Recipe


  • 1 cup of flour that rises on its own
  • One cup of sugar
  • One cup of milk
  • 1 fat piece of butter
  • One pinch of spice
  • 2-cups of sliced sweet fruit, either fresh or from a can


  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch metal or glass baking pan with butter.
  2. Prepare the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, granulated sugar, and milk. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add Butter: Place the large piece of butter in the greased baking pan and put it in the preheated oven. Allow the butter to melt completely.
  4. Assemble the Cobbler: Once the butter is melted, remove the pan from the oven. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the pan. Do not stir.
  5. Add Fruit: Sprinkle the sliced sweet fruit evenly over the batter in the pan. You can use fresh strawberries or any other fruit of your choice.
  6. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the middle is set and the cobbler is golden brown on top.
  7. Serve: Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!
