Creative Chicken Dumplings: Kids’ New Favorite
I noticed I didn’t have most of the items I required for the dumplings when I tried to prepare my chicken and dumplings tonight after boiling the chicken. When my kids pleaded with me to make them, I improvised and devised a recipe using what I had on hand. These were, by far, the greatest dumplings I have ever made !Praying I’m able to make them again since I don’t have an actual recipe and I didn’t measure lol. so here what i did and let’s call it recipe
Chicken and Dumplings Recipe Ingredients For the Broth:
- 1 hen
- 1 stick of butter
- Season with salt and pepper.
- You may consider adding some chicken broth if desired.
- Knorr chicken bouillon granules (if desired)
Creating the Dumplings
- Use 3 cups of self-rising flour.
- Approximately 3/4 of a stick of butter that has been softened
- Approximately half a cup of whole milk
- Approximately 1/2-3/4 cup of chicken broth made from a boiled hen.
- Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Step-by-step guide
Get started on the broth:
- Cook the hen by boiling it.
- After completing the process, remove the hen.
- Remove the excess residue from the broth.
- Incorporate a stick of butter, a sprinkle of salt and pepper, and a dash of extra chicken broth if necessary.
Prepare the Dumplings:
- Begin by cutting the butter into the flour.
- Include the whole milk and chicken broth.
- Combine the ingredients by stirring.
- Season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
- If the dough has a sticky consistency, you can incorporate a small amount of additional flour.
- Coat the flour ball with a light dusting and gently place it in the bowl.
- Take small portions of dough and gently add them to the simmering broth.
