Southern Biscuit Bread

Classic Southern Biscuit Bread

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • About 40% buttermilk
  • About 60% regular whole milk

Note: I only measured 2 ingredients and never measured anything else. I’m one of those cooks that never measured anything. Sorry.

  1. Mix together 3 cups self-rising flour and 3 tablespoons canola oil.
  2. Pour in about 40% buttermilk and 60% regular whole milk until it’s a thick consistency enough to pour.
  3. Preheat a cast iron skillet in a 425-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Pour the batter into the preheated cast iron skillet.
  5. Bake until golden brown.
