moist Meatloaf Recipe

I didn’t like meatloaf growing up. Now that I get to control the spices and keep it moist I love making meatloaf. Esp meatloaf sandwiches the next day!

Meatloaf


Ingredients:
 

  • Ground beef
  • 1 piece of white bread
  • Milk
  • Ritz crackers (broken up) or bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Seasoning salt
  • Dried parsley
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Chopped or shredded onion
  • A pat of room temperature butter
  • Cooking spray


For the Sauce:

  • Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce with cayenne OR
  • Ketchup mixed with brown sugar, cayenne, and garlic powder


Instructions:
 

  • I get a big mixing bowl and put my ground beef in.
  • Put a piece of white bread and pour a little milk on it just to absorb the milk.
  • Add some Ritz crackers broken up or bread crumbs.
  • Add an egg.
  • Add some olive oil over.
  • Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, seasoning salt, dried parsley,
  • Worcestershire sauce, fresh cilantro, and chopped or shredded onion.
  • Add a pat of room temperature butter.
  • Mix thoroughly with hands. Check to see if it’s too wet; if it is, add more crumbs.
  • Shape and place on aluminum that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Meatloaf

  • Bake at 350°F until done I look to see whether it’s becoming overly dry.
  • I finish by drizzling my sauce over it, either sweet baby ray’s with some cayenne
  • alternatively ketchup combined with brown sugar, cayenne, and garlic powder.
  • Savour your superb meatloaf.
