Southern Supper Bliss: Fried Chicken, Mash, and Coleslaw recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 chicken pieces
  • One egg
  • 1 tablespoon of hot sauce
  • Half a teaspoon of Adobo
  • A dash of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Half a teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
  • Use half a teaspoon of Mrs. Sash.
  • Use half a teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
  • A half teaspoon of paprika.
  • Use one tablespoon of corn starch.
  • 1 teaspoon of cornmeal
  • Measure out one cup of all-purpose flour.
  • Combine the seasonings with the flour. Once you’re ready to fry, dip the marinated chicken into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly. Fry the chicken in oil for approximately 16 to 18 minutes at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Just a note: I typically use vegetable oil or peanut oil for frying, although peanut oil can be quite pricey. However, in this particular instance, I used corn oil.

For the Coleslaw:

  • Grab a bag of coleslaw mix from the store.
  • Half a cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon of onion and garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Add a tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to balance out the acidity.
  • Ensure a thorough mixing for optimal results, preferably by refrigerating overnight.
