New Orleans Bourbon Pecan Praline Bread Pudding Delight
Ingredients
Pudding
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 large beaten eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 2 Tbl. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Bourbon
- 1 Tbl. cinnamon
- 1 loaf French bread, torn into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Topping
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Bourbon Butter Sauce
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 Tbl. vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup Bourbon
Instructions
Pudding
- Mix the first six pudding ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Add the bread and pecans, mixing well with hands until saturated.
- Let sit for 20 minutes.
Topping
- Mix the topping ingredients in a bowl.
Baking
- Pour the pudding into a greased 13×9 baking dish.
- Sprinkle on the topping.
- Bake at 350° for 35-45 minutes or until set.
Bourbon Butter Sauce
- In a medium pot, melt the butter.
- Add all other ingredients, whisking frequently over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
