New Orleans Bourbon Pecan Praline Bread Pudding Delight

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 large beaten eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 Tbl. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon
  • 1 Tbl. cinnamon
  • 1 loaf French bread, torn into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Topping

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Bourbon Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbl. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon

Instructions

Pudding

  1. Mix the first six pudding ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Add the bread and pecans, mixing well with hands until saturated.
  3. Let sit for 20 minutes.

Topping

  1. Mix the topping ingredients in a bowl.

Baking

  1. Pour the pudding into a greased 13×9 baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle on the topping.
  3. Bake at 350° for 35-45 minutes or until set.

Bourbon Butter Sauce

  1. In a medium pot, melt the butter.
  2. Add all other ingredients, whisking frequently over medium heat until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
