Cathead Old Fashioned Lard Biscuits
Servings: 8 biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour, flour for hands
- The Lard golf ball size
- Buttermilk, one cup, cold
- Skillet Shortcut
- Butter melted to six teaspoons
Instructions
- Turn oven on to 450 degrees.
- Smear a skillet with shortening and set aside.
- Work the fat into the flour with a fork or your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stirring to form a ball in the bowl,
- add the buttermilk.
Scatter some flour over your hands and pinch off the dough. - Forming a biscuit, roll it in your palm.
- Keep flour on your hands, please. 15 to 20 minutes at a preheated oven will turn golden brown.
