Classic Southern Biscuit Bread
Cornbread
Ingredients:
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- About 40% buttermilk
- About 60% regular whole milk
Note: I only measured 2 ingredients and never measured anything else. I’m one of those cooks that never measured anything. Sorry.
Instructions:
- Mix together 3 cups self-rising flour and 3 tablespoons canola oil.
- Pour in about 40% buttermilk and 60% regular whole milk until it’s a thick consistency enough to pour.
- Preheat a cast iron skillet in a 425-degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the preheated cast iron skillet.
- Bake until golden brown.
