Microwave 6-Minute Treacle Pudding


  • 100g self-raising flour
  • Caster sugar
  • Butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • Golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


  1. Soften the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and fold in the flour and baking powder.
  3. Add the milk to the mixture.
  4. Grease the inside of a microwaveable dish.
  5. Put the golden syrup on the bottom of the dish.
  6. Pour the mixture over the syrup, covering it completely.
  7. Place double baking paper on top of the dish and tie it securely with string.
  8. Pop the dish in the microwave.
  9. Cook on full power for 6 minutes.
  10. When the time is up, leave the dish in the microwave for an additional minute to stand.

Note: The recipe was prepared using a 6″ x 4″ Pyrex dish.
